Caroline is starting to get very protective of Lilly Cate. It is so cute :) She especially gets upset when Lilly starts to cry while in her crib...she says, "Mommy, Lilly cry, check Lilly!" It is so nice to see her acting so lovingly toward her little sister. She also loves to give her hugs and kisses, and refuses to nap or go to bed without giving Lilly a kiss! I guess it's because they are starting to interact more now that Lilly is getting older and more active. She is no longer just a "blob," to quote Angelina Jolie. But that is kind of true, as mean as it may sound. Lilly has definitely found her voice now and is in a "happy" screaming phase; she loves to roll around on the floor (as long as someone is watching her...she loves attention, imagine that!); and she is always laughing and smiling at Caroline, which Caroline gets a total kick out of. I can't believe my little baby is almost 5 months old!!! I just can't believe it! She has quite the mohawk going, which I like to call her fauxhawk or frohawk. It is so adorable! And her hair is still brown...at least for now. Her eyes are still a dark blue and are absolutely gorgeous. And she still seems to have a warmer complexion than Caroline and RJ. Everyone says she still looks like me, but as we learned with Caroline, you never know!
In addition to her newfound protection of Lilly, Caroline is doing lots of other cute things right now:
-she loves lemons! who knew?!? everytime we get them with a glass of tea she has to have it (after a drink of our sweet tea, of course!).
-while most days brushing her teeth is a total chore, she went and got the floss out of our bathroom the other day and said, "mommy, floss teeth." huh??? so she handed me the floss and climbed up in my lap and let me floss her teeth!!! she loved it :)
-she is also working on her counting and colors right now. she can almost count to ten (she usually skips 5 and 6), and it is precious! everytime she sees multipes of things, she starts counting them! she is still working on her colors, but doing very well for just turning 2! at least she no longer thinks everything is yellow :)
-we are still working on potty training (although not very diligently on my part). she is so excited when she goes potty! i am trying to wait until after our trip to nc in october, so we don't regress during all of our travels.

-she can now ask for chick-fil-a, "chicken fil a," with the "chicken" sounding more like "kitchen." we usually go there after mops and is the hot spot around here with kiddos, so we are there more than we should be.
-she insists on dressing herself. cute, yes, but also kind of annoying and frustrating. when we actually have to go somewhere, she usually gets vetoed, but if we are around here just hanging out, she will dress and undress about 5 times a day. and there is always at least one princess dress and one tutu involved in the process.
